What Is Gluten?

Before we dive in, let’s have a think about what gluten actually is. Every expert explains that gluten is a protein that can be found in wheat, rye, barley, and several other grains.

If you think of a pizza, it is what gives the dough its stretchy consistency. Gluten is found in so many different things, including potato chips and soy sauce. According to the FDA, food items need to contain less than 20 ppm of gluten so that they can be considered “gluten-free” and labelled as such.
