There is so much to be said about these Gluten-Free Baked Chocolate Donuts → chocolaty, moist, old-fashioned, easy to make and incredibly delicious! The old-fashioned baked donuts are a bit nostalgic, great memories, comfort and a lot of goodness.
Most of us love donuts because they will satisfy that sweet craving, especially when chocolate is involved. These gluten-free baked donuts are all about chocolate. Yes, they are indulgent; this is why I consider donuts a special treat.
As with all my recipes, I always try to find a healthier way of creating recipes. However, when it comes to donuts, it has been challenging. However, I did manage to make the baked donuts a bit healthier than most.

So as I said, I wanted to make these chocolate donuts healthier. To do this, first, they are baked and not deep-fried. Most donuts are deep-fried in refined oils, which has been refined by using chemicals that are harmful to us.
To sweeten the donuts, I used coconut sugar, a low-glycemic sugar that is slightly better than refined sugar. However, you can skip the coconut sugar and use pure maple syrup or honey.
Both will work in this baked donut recipe. For fats, I used extra virgin olive oil, a healthier option in baking. To add extra protein and fiber, I added almond flour and flaxseed. All in all, this donut is on the healthier side.
